Volunteer at Mount Joy Snow Resort, your winter playground, only 20 minutes SW of Lloydminster. Volunteers can participate in the 'Work to Ride for Free' program, as well as earn discounts at other partnering ski & snow mountain resorts within Alberta and B.C.
Mount Joy Snow Resort is fully run by volunteers, and is seeking volunteers in a wide variety of areas, from lift attendees to concession workers to hill groomers to rental technicians and more. Volunteer at Mount Joy Snow Resort
Liftees: Provide an outstanding experience for our guests on the Hill. They are responsible for safely assisting all our guests from the lists as well as answering questions about Mount Joy. This position requires some physical labour including holding the T-Bar, assisting riders on the tow rope and moving some snow. Training is provided.
Concession: Preparation and sale of concession items - soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate and food items. Collect money and give correct change to customers. Monitor money in cash box, ensure adequate change is available. Prepare food items for the day's special. Ensure the concession stand is tidy and chalet area is clean and tidy. Training is provided.
Ticket Agent: For many of our guests the ticket office is the first point of contact. You will be part of a dynamic team and you need to be an ambassador for Mount Joy. It is a position of "Go the "extra mile" and to Serve with a "smile". It is your job to make the experience and happy and hassle free! It is a area to show your impeccable customer service, people and communication skills. The ticket office is a great way to show off your people skills. You are required to collect money, explain the paperwork - training is provided.
Boot Fitter: This position is responsible for assisting guest with the selection and proper fitting of boots. Each guest will need to be properly identified regarding their riding ability. You will need a general understanding of basic foot identification, and measurements (length, width, overall shape etc.). Training is provided.
Rental Technician: This position ensures guests have properly and accurately completed the rental forms. Sizing the guest and fitting the guest for their ski boots or snowboard boots. Recommend ski or snowboard length - depending on their ability - this ensures the guest will enjoy their experience. All returned equipment needs to be checked for damage and placed in the repair area if damaged. Maintain cleanliness of the rental shop and proper storage of equipment.
